Yesterday I told you that October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and throughout this month my blog is going to be focused on shelter dogs.
But I can’t neglect to point out that October is also Pit Bull Awareness Month.
If I can encourage you to do anything this month, it is to take every single opportunity you get to advocate for Pit Bulls.
Do you own a beautiful, well-behaved Pit Bull? Get her out and about this month and let people see what a great dog she is. Actions speak louder than words, and people need to see how wonderful our dogs are!
Overhear a co-worker talking negatively about Pit Bulls, because he just doesn’t have the facts straight? Gently tell him the truth. Debunk the myths and spread the good news about Pit Bulls!
Have a few hours to spare? Volunteer at a local shelter or Pit Bull rescue.
And if you’re really into everything we’re celebrating this month, adopt a Pit Bull! Want to kick it up a notch? Adopt a senior Pit Bull!
Please join us over on our Facebook page where we’re working to save the lives of Pit Bulls in shelters every single day.
How will you commemorate Pit Bull Awareness Month in October? Please share your ideas here in comments! We’d love to know!
