Dogs (and cats) are stolen everyday, right out of their very own yards. Most often, they’re stolen for reasons you don’t even want to think about, like to be used as bait for dogfighting training. Sometimes they’re stolen for breeding purposes, and let’s face it, sometimes they’re stolen because some lunatic wants a defenseless creature to torture.
Sadly, that’s the world we live in. Danger is lurking around every corner. But here are a few tips from American Dog Magazine, to help you “theft-proof” your pets.
The most important tip, I think, is to never, ever leave your pet unattended outdoors. This prevents not only theft, but the possibility of your dog getting through a hole in a fence and running away.
Can YOU think of other ways of “theft-proofing” your pets? I’d love for you to share them in comments below!
