Did you know that 59 percent of pets given as Christmas gifts end up in discarded in shelters within one year?
That’s because choosing a pet is a personal decision. You cannot make this decision for someone else, which is why giving a pet as a gift is a monumentally bad idea.
Who are YOU to make a 10 to 15 year commitment for someone else?
If you want to give a pet as a gift this year, wait until after the holiday and take your recipient to your local animal shelter. Let them choose their own pet. Let them make their own commitment.
You can help me make a difference this holiday season by spreading the word. Share this post with others, and remind them that owning a pet is a commitment and not an impulsive whim.
We can save lives this year by educating. Please take a moment to share this post on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. The animals will thank you!
