Howie is a beautiful dog who needs a break. Maybe YOU can help him?
Howie waits at the Humane Society for Hamilton County (Noblesville, Indiana) for a family to whisk him out of the shelter and into a loving forever home. He was surrendered to the shelter when he nipped at a teenager who came (uninvited) into Howie’s yard. Seems to me that all he was doing was protecting his turf, but apparently he’s being punished for it.
Prior to this incident, Howie, a 3 year old Lab/Hound mix, was a perfectly behaved dog who had lived in the same home his whole life. He is house broken, neutered, and is trained to use an Invisible Fence. Howie is very social, loves other dogs, and does not guard his food or treats.
Howie would love a forever home with a loving family in time for Christmas. He will do best in a home with kids 8 and older, and no cats. He needs an experienced dog owner over age 21. His adoption fee is $90.
Can’t adopt or foster Howie? You can still make a difference by sharing this post with your friends and family, and asking them to share it, too. Social media ~ like blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest ~ saves shelter animals every single day, but it only works when YOU get involved.
