3 Things in 2013

In writing this blog for over a year, and in listening to people and witnessing what goes on in the world of animals, I’ve learned few things.
  • Spaying and neutering is the key to stopping the seemingly endless slaughter of animals in our shelter system;
  • Giving pets away “free to a good home” on Craigslist and similar methods is often a death sentence for animals and must be stopped;
  • Most people in the world still believe the bias media reporting on Pit Bulls, and our dogs are still suffering because of it.
Having identified these 3 truths, I’m making it the mission of The Lazy Pit Bull blog and Facebook page to change things in 2013.

Over the next year, the blog and Facebook will be focusing on preaching the necessity of spaying and neutering your pets; finding responsible ways to re-home pets; and continuing to educate and enlighten the world about the amazing Pit Bull.

Will YOU join us?

If you’re as passionate as we are about changing the world for animals, won’t you consider placing our button on your blog or website? That way, your friends and followers will be able to easily find all of our posts related to these 3 Things in 2013.

  3. Crystal, thanks for the feedback! I’m so very glad you found your sweet Koira!

    While I agree that not every Craigslist transaction is bad, I’ve seen enough of them to know that they must be stopped.

    I’m not against Craigslist ads… I’m against giving a pet away for free in ANY forum – Craigslist, local newspaper ad, or basket in front of a grocery store. People who want your pet for evil purposes don’t want to pay money for it. Statistics have shown that by charging even as little as $10-20 for a pet, you reduce the risk of it being used for evil purposes.

    The average person simply does not realize the horrors of dog fighting. I’d venture to say there are people who don’t even believe it exists in their town, but it does. There are evil people everywhere, and they prey on innocents (both animals and children). We simply MUST make it more difficult for them to do that!

    I will say that, while I know most dogs given away “free to good home” don’t make it to good homes, I did get my amazing Koira girl as a free puppy off of craigslist, and will be forever grateful that I managed to find her awesome little self. I wouldn’t have gotten into the APBT without her, or blogging, or dog sports. She has very much influenced the direction my life has taken in the five years she has been part of my family.
