One of my family’s favorite summertime activities is going for ice cream on warm Sunday evenings. We love to take the dogs along for the ride, but to be honest, I really don’t like to give them ice cream. Dairy products can upset pets’ stomachs, and they just don’t need all the calories and sugar that are found in traditional ice cream treats.
But don’t worry, my dogs definitely don’t get left out of the fun when it comes to cold summertime treats. We love, love, love this recipe for homemade frosty paws treats, and so do our dogs. I’m betting your dogs will love them, too.
As with all of the homemade foods and treats I make for my dogs, these frosty paws treats are filled with wholesome dog-approved ingredients like yogurt, peanut butter, and bananas. The recipe is super simple to make, and these chilly little treats are fun on a hot day.
Just take a look at this recipe! You can literally whip it up in just a few minutes, then pop it in the freezer for a few hours.

- 1 ripe banana
- 1 T honey
- Miniature Milk Bones, optional
- Mix all ingredients together until smooth.
- Pour into ice cube trays, dixie cups, or cup cake liners.
- Top with a mini Milk Bone, if desired.

These frozen treats are always a big hit at our house. The dogs get so excited when they see me reach into the freezer, and I’ll bet your dogs will love them, too!
