In honor of Mother’s Day, which was this past Sunday here in the United States, this week’s 52 Snapshots of Life theme is MOTHER.
I dug back into the archives just a bit to share this photo, which was taken a few years back at the Indianapolis Zoo. Left to right is my sister Cindy, my mom, my nieces Rebekah and Lindsey standing in front of me, and my nephew Matthew in the back.
Lots of things have changed since this day. All those kids are teenagers now (yikes!), my sister and I have gotten older (double yikes), and my mom is battling Alzheimers. All of that is just one of the reasons why this photo is so precious to me. It’s also a reminder of the entire purpose of a challenge like 52 Snapshots: make sure you’re capturing the moments that matter, because life is fleeting and everything changes.
52 Snapshots of Life is a weekly photo challenge, but it isn’t just for pet bloggers! It’s for anyone who loves to take photos, and everyone is invited to participate! Simply snap a photo based on the current week’s theme (shown in the image above), and then share your photo in a blog post, on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or wherever you like. It’s so much fun seeing what everyone comes up with for each week’s theme.
On Fridays I share my photo for the week here in a blog post, and I give you a chance to link up with me and the other participants. All you have to do is simply add your link below and share your photos with the world! If you’re sharing your photos on social media, please be sure to use hashtag #52Snapshots so we can find you!
Just a couple of rules: first, if you’re linking up, please be sure to link DIRECTLY TO your #52Snapshots post – don’t link to your main website URL. And second, if you are not participating in the photo challenge, please don’t link up a random blog post here. This blog hop is only for photos of this week’s theme, and unrelated links will be removed. Thanks for understanding!
