I love lots of things. Brownies, sleeping in, seeing a movie at the theater. I especially love walking on the beach, picking up seashells as the waves wash over my bare feet.
I often say “Ooh, I love that!” when I hear a story that makes me smile and warms my heart.
Love. It’s a word we throw around quite a bit, but what does it really mean? That’s what we’re exploring in the February edition of the Appreciate the Moments monthly themed photo challenge.
I’ve heard it said that love is not as much a feeling as it is a choice we make. I’ve been married for 27 years, and I’m the first to admit that I don’t always feel love toward my husband. Sometimes I feel frustration, disappointment, even anger. We haven’t stayed married for all these years because we always feel love, but because we chose one another 27 years ago and each and every day we make the choice to keep moving forward, for better or for worse.
Now, with that said, let me tell you that I absolutely love this photograph. I took it last summer when Hubby, Georgie, and I went out for our evening walk. It was a beautiful, warm night and I was enjoying the summer with two of my absolute favorites, and my heart was bursting with love.
So yeah, love is a choice but it’s also a feeling and that’s just fine with me.
