There are combinations that don’t fail – like marshmallows and cocoa, or nose and wet. And for our ponytails, one such perfect combo is peanuts and apple. Natural, flavorful and healthy, together they create real flavor magic that no dog will turn down.
Peanut paste has been a favorite of dogs for a long time. The main thing is to choose natural, without sugar, salt and xylitol. It contains healthy fats, proteins and B vitamins, while perfectly gluing the ingredients in homemade treats. And the apple adds a slight sweetness, fiber, vitamin C and a pleasant aroma that dogs pick up on as soon as the lid of the jar is opened or the fruit is cut.
The treat can literally be made in 15 minutes. Here’s a simple recipe:
- 1 small apple (peeled from core and grated),
- 2 tbsp. natural peanut paste,
- 1 egg,
- about 1 cup of oat or rice flour (add until desired consistency).
Mix everything to a dough, roll out, cut out shapes (paws, bones, hearts – whatever you like), and bake at 170°C for about 15 minutes. Let them cool – and that’s it, the flavorful cookies are ready! Tails will tailgate until they get their portion.
Such yummy cookies are perfect as an encouragement after a workout, on a walk or just to please your pet without a reason. The key is to store them in a dry container or in our DIY jar (remember?). And, of course, everything with love.
May every day be an occasion for delicious joy. Because peanuts + apple = love. And delicious, and fluffy!
