Many years ago, on a rainy Sunday afternoon, I let my dog out to potty. She was alone, but she was securely in our fenced backyard – or so I thought. Two or three minutes later I went to bring her back into the house, and she was gone. She’d found a spot in the fence where she could squeeze underneath and make her great escape. Little Houdini!
My husband and son were immediately out the door to look for her, and then the phone rang. A man was calling from just a few blocks away. He had my dog; she’d been hit by a car. I called my husband on his cell phone, and he was able to get to her right away. We rushed her to the emergency vet, and her life was saved.
That wouldn’t have been possible if she hadn’t been wearing a collar with an ID tag that included current contact information for her family, and if a kind gentleman hadn’t taken the time to do the right thing and call me.
A friend’s dog was lost because the dog sitter carelessly leashed through the dog through the flimsy ID tag ring, rather than through the sturdy collar ring. When the dog got spooked and pulled hard on the leash, the ID tag ring broke and the dog took off running. She was wearing a collar, but had no ID tag and she wasn’t microchipped. She’s been missing almost two years.
Needless to say, I’m a avid proponent of ID tags (and microchipping), and I’ve fallen in love with the amazing products from dogIDs.
dogIDs offers just about everything you could ever need for your pet – collars, leashes, tags, beds, crates, toys, bowls, and even more. Check out these very cool MLB tags for your dog!
dogIDs is a small family owned business out of North Dakota, and they’ve been around since 1999. They really put a personal touch on their products and their customer service, and they’re a real pleasure to do business with. That’s so important to me, because nowadays there are so many companies that simply don’t treat their customers right.
I was so happy when dogIDs offered to send me one of their amazing Personalized Designer Nylon Ribbon Collars for review. I was even happier when I received it and I put it on my Nike girl – so pretty! But the best part? No more jingle, jingle, jingle every time she moves! With her name and my phone number clearly engraved on the collar’s buckle – and not on an ID tag that could be lost or broken or scratched beyond legibility – it’s just sweet silence!
(Just back from the groomer, Nike refused to allow me to remove her pretty new pink bandanna. But you can still see her gorgeous brown and turquoise paisley collar. The groomer even painted her toenails that same shade of turquoise!)
